Review of Present Tense verbs: ‘-ar, -er, -ir” verbs (regular and irregular)
A. Verbs in the present have these endings: trabajar (trabajO, trabajAS, trabajA; trabajAMOS, trabajAN); comer (comO, comES, comE; comEMOS; comEN), vivir (vivO, vivES, vivE; vivIMOS, vivEN). Some verbs change their stem in the present tense: Group 1: Yo irregular: yo hago, yo tengo, etc; Grupo 2: e˃ie: pensar, cerrar, empezar, querer, entender; Grupo 3: o˃ue: almorzar, encontrar, recordar, poder, volver; u˃ue: jugar. Grupo 4: e>i: pedir, repetir, servir.
B. Make two sentences with two regular verbs and two with each group of the irregular verbs.
C. ¿Ser or estar? Escoge a verb conjugation of ser (soy-eres-es-somos-son) o estar (estoy-estás-está-estamos-están) para completar las oraciones: 1. Los libros _________ en la mesa; 2. Margarita tiene 20 años. Ella _______________ alta y delgada; 3. Josefina y yo ___________ muy contentos; 4. Hoy ______ martes; 5. Yo no __________ el presidente de la nación; 6. ¿De dónde en México ______ usted?; 7. Gaby y yo _________ amigos.
D. Completa los espacios: 1. Elisa ________________ en Central City (vivir); 2. David ___________ (trabajar) en Sara Lee; 3. Nosotros _____________ (comer) en ese restaurante una vez al mes; 4. Juan ________________ (comienza) a trabajar a las ocho. 5. os chicos _________________ (querer) practicar más español; 6. ¿Qué _____________(pensar) tú de la situación política?
E. Translation. Traduzca estas oraciones al inglés. 1. Me gusta su camisa; 2. Podemos bailar muy bien; 3. Planeo ir al restaurante italiano; 4. Ellos no quieren ir a la fiesta; 5. Mi hermana Nora tiene 50 años de edad; 6. Yo tengo que estudiar esta tarde; 7. María y yo vamos a trabajar este fin de semana. 8. ¿Va usted a su oficina ahora?
F. Responda estas preguntas. 1. ¿Cómo está usted?; 2. ¿Qué estudia en la universidad?; 3. ¿Qué cursos toma los miércoles?; 5. ¿Qué va a hacer este fin de semana? 6. ¿Tiene que trabajar o estudiar esta noche?; 7. ¿Qué come usted en la mañana? Luego (then) haga las preguntas a un/a compañera/o. Be ready to report his/her answers to the whole clase. Be ready to perform these questions in an interview style.

(2) What are some techniques to learn Spanish? What are some questions/possible answers you can ask to a person using the previous verbs? What are possible topics you can talk and answer about?
