(14) Group 3: Present Tense of Irregular Verbs (o→ ue)

These verbs change their ‘o’ stem to ‘ue’ in most of their present conjugations. These verbs are:

almorzar (to have lunch), costar (to cost); contar (to count); encontrar (to meet, to find); mostrar (to show); recordar (to remember); volar (to fly); sonar (to sound), soñar (to dream); llover (to rain); mover (to move); poder (to be able, can); volver (to return); dormir (to sleep); morirse (to die)

Only (u→ ue) verb: jugar (to play a sport): Yo juego, tú juegas, él juega; N jugamos, V jugais, Ellos juegan

Some conjugations:

Yo almuerzo, Tú almuerzas, Usted almuerza; N almorzamos; Vosotros almorzáis, Ellos almuerzan.

(Mostly in the third person; Cuesta (It costs); Cuestan (They cost)

Yo encuentro, Tú encuentras, Ella encuentra; N encontramos, V encontráis; Ellas encuentran.

(15) Group 4: Present Tense of Irregular Verbs (e→ i)

These verbs change their ‘e’ stem to ‘i’ in most of their present conjugations. These four verbs are: repetir (to repeat), reírse (to laugh); pedir (to ask for, to request); servir (to serve).

Some conjugations:

Yo repito, Tú repites, Usted repite; N repetimos; Vosotros repetís, Ellos repiten

Yo río, Tú ríes, Usted ríe, N reímos, V reís; Ellas ríen.
